A truly astonishing ingredient for health and beauty, that is not only extremely accessible and easy to use, is undoubtedly, olive oil.  Compared to all other oils, this oil stands our with its high nutritional value and therapeutic properties, which can be used for both health and beauty.

olive oil being poured into a spoonOils are the purest essence of either a fruit or a seed.  In this case, as many of us know, olive oil is extracted from olives.  An oil’s quality can vary according to its refinement or extraction process.  Without a doubt, the best oil is that which is extracted by first-press (cold press or extra virgin).  This retains the oil’s properties and original qualities (those that it had as seed or fruit).

That’s why it is so important to use extra virgin olive oil for these remedies, in order to get the best results.

FOR HAIR: If you want brilliant and strong hair, you must make an olive oil mask; this will make it shine.  You can make this in a bowl, mixing 3 Tbsp. of olive oil (or more, for longer hair), and the juice from half a lemon.  Mix well and spread over all of your hair, especially the ends.  Give your scalp a gentle massage with your fingertips.  Let sit for half and hour, and then take a shower, letting the hot steam do the final touches on your hair.

FOR THE SKIN: At night, wash your face, and rather than using your normal cream, spread a bit of olive oil on your face, lighting pressing your forehead, cheeks, and chin.  Let you circulation start to move, effectively absorbing the vitamin E.  You can do this on your elbows, feet, or any dry areas of your skin.  Your skin will absorb better if you do this after showering.  If you don’t use a lot, it won’t leave any smell.

FOR CLEANSING YOUR BODY: Olive oil is ideal for keeping your stomach and intestines in good working order.  This will undoubtedly show in your skin and hair.  Drink 1 tsp. of olive oil every night before going to bed, and don’t eat until the following day.  You can also use it as a salad dressing or in other recipes.  This is excellent for nourishing your skin and brain.

CLEANSING YOUR MOUTH AND BLOOD: Before breakfast (you must always do this on an empty stomach), place 1 tsp. of olive oil, and swish it around in your mouth for a bit.  Seep the oil through your teeth, on the roof of your mouth, under your tongue, and all around.  Once the oil changes color, turning whiter (check this by placing a bit on your finger), spit.  This kills bacteria and also stimulates blood to remove toxins.

DRY HANDS AND HANGNAILS: In a glass half-full of warm water, add 2 Tbsp. of olive oil.  Then, place your hands in this water for as long as possible, or until the water turns cold (although you can reheat it, and continue treatment).  When you take your hands out, don’t rinse them.  Leave your hands as they are until you must wash them.  You’ll see how smooth they are!  You can also use this remedy on your feet, or dry areas of the body.
