There are always a lot of things at home that, by mixing them together, become magic recipes for keeping skin radiant and beautiful.  And the best part of all is that you don’t need to spend a fortune for it.

Homemade Masks - part one: Oily SkinWe are going to show you a few masks that you can easily prepare at home according to your skin type.  Choose whichever you like best and let us know how it worked on your skin.

Before anything else…

Your skin must always be clean

You should never apply the mask around your eyes

While wearing the mask, stay relaxed.

Homemade mask for Oily skin

1. Strawberry and honey mask

Ingredients:

  • 7 strawberries
  • 2 Tbsp. honey

Instructions:

First, wash and cut the strawberries.  Slowly add the hone while squishing the strawberries with a fork until creating a puree.

Spread the mask over your face and let it set for 20 minutes, then rinse with ocld water.

2. Cucumber and lemon mask

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cucumber, peeled
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp., lemon juice
  • 1/2 red apple

Instructions

Using a blender, combine all ingredients until making a uniform paste.  Refrigerate for 10 minutes.

After those 10 minutes, apply to your face and let set for 20 minutes.  Then rinse with warm water.

 3. Egg and lemon mask

Ingredients

  • 1 egg yolk
  • juice of one lemon
  • Oatmeal

Instructions

Create a creamy paste by mixing the egg white with lemon juice and oatmeal.

Apply to your face and let set for 20 minutes, then rinse with cold water.

4. Chamomile and pineapple mas

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c, chamomile tea
  • 1 handful of parsley
  • one small slice of pineapple
  • 1/2 c. plain yogurt

Instructions

Blend the parsley, chamomile tea and pineapple.  Then mix the plain yogurt in and spread over your face, gently massaging in circles.

Let set for 10 minutes and then rinse with warm water.

5. Papaya mask

Ingredients:

  • 1 small papaya slice
  • One Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 c. plain yogurt

Instructions:

Mix all ingredients and apply the mask to your face for 15 minutes.  Then rinse with warm water.

This mask can also be used on oily hair.

6. Yogurt and citrus mask

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp. plain yogurt
  • Juice from one lemon, freshly squeezed
  • 1 Tbsp. orange juice
  • 1 Tbsp. carrot juice

Instructions:

Mix all ingredients and apply the mask to your skin for 15 minutes then rinse with warm water.

7. Strawberry and milk mask

Ingredients:

  • 4 ripe strawberries
  • 1/2 Tbsp. fresh milk
  • 1 egg white
  • Sodium bicarbonate

Instructions:

Crush the strawberries with a fork and blend the egg white into a merengue.  Add the strawberries, along with the milk and a pinch of the bicarbonate.  Mix until creating a compact mask.

Apply the mask to your face and let set for 20 minutes.  Then remove with warm water, then cold.

8. Oatmeal flour mask

Ingredients:

  • 1 c. oatmeal flour
  • 1/2 c. cow’s milk

Instructions:

In a bowl, pour the oatmeal flour and slowly add teh milk while stirring until creating a soft dough.

Apply the mixture to your face and let set for 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water, then cold.

9. Honey and milk mask

This mask helps eliminate pore impurities.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Tbsp. honey
  • 1 Tbsp. powdered milk
  • 1 egg white

Instructions:

In a bowl, stir the powdered mil, honey and egg white until well combined, having previously beated the egg.

Spread the mask over your face and remove with warm water, then cold, after 15 minutes.

10. Turnip mask

This mask is excellent because the yogurt and turnip remove excess oil and absorb skin impurities, while the cornstarch makes skin soft and firm.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 c. yogurt
  • 1 Tbsp. grated turnip
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch

Instructions:

Mix all ingredients then apply to your face and neck.

Let set for 30 minutes, then rinse with cold water.

11. Carrot mask

This mask helps people that suffer from acne because the carrots contains substances called abscisins, which absorb skin impurities and oil

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 c. yogurt
  • 1 Tbsp. grated carrot
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch

Instructions:

Mix all ingredients and apply to your face and neck for 20 minutes.

Lastly, remove with cold water.

12. Homemade apple peel mask for oily skin

Excellent for drying out pimples and for leaving skin oil-free.

Ingredients:

  • 2 apples

Instructions:

Peel the apples and place the peels on the area that you have pimples for 10 minutes.

13. Clay and seaweed mask

This mask removes excess oil characteristic of this skin type.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsp. fine clay
  • 1 Tbsp. powdered spirulin seaweed
  • Water (however much necessary)

Instructions:

Mix the clay and seaweed powder with enough water until creating a uniform paste.

Let set on your face for 20 minutes and then remove with a cotton ball soaked in rose hip oil.

So now you know of several options for caring for oily skin and for having a beautiful face.  You don’t need to spend thousands on face creams.  Later we’re going to show you masks for other skin types, and don’t forget to let us know which ones worked best for you.
